1 Peter expresses much about our Savior.  It also tells us about being living stones that build up the church body spiritually.  Grace extends in this message to display God's goodness and to our gain.

Jesus is The Cornerstone of the faith.  One particular thing that has stood out to me is the way 1 Peter1:16 expresses instructions to be holy, live in godly fear, and to be as He is.  Deep meditation on the commands are just the starting point to a soul purified by obedience to the truth and a heart richly engrained in the Word.

Living Stones

At our local wellness center, the wall has two phrases which conclude that we be " stronger than your excuses" and to "be the change we wish to see in the world".  This plus the mural is so enriching with one avenue of thought centering on pushing forward and another leading by example.  1 Peter explains very similar Gospel messages to people like other books of the Bible.  Peter states "Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ".  This reminds me of the truth of the Gospel that we hope to the end.  My knack is to want to over exegete the text, yet in its dear form we have the truth.  We must gird up our mind and hope in Jesus.
